Add Your Organisation’s Custom Background in Microsoft Teams
Changing your background to the organisation-approved image
helps maintain a consistent and professional appearance during meetings. Follow
the steps below to upload and use your company’s background.
✅ Step 1: Download the Official
Background Image from the link below.
Save it somewhere easy to find (e.g., Desktop).
OPTION A — Adding the Background Before Joining a Meeting
✅ Step 2: Open Microsoft Teams
Launch the Teams desktop app.
✅ Step 3: Click “Join” on the
Meeting
You will enter the pre-join screen.
✅ Step 4: Turn On Camera &
Open Background Filters
✅ Step 5: Click “+ Add New”
This lets you upload your organisation’s custom background.
✅ Step 6: Select the
Organisation’s Background Image
Choose the provided JPG/PNG file.
✅ Step 7: Apply the Background
Click your new background to preview it behind you.
Then click Join Now.
OPTION B
— Adding the Background During a Meeting
✅ Step 1: Click “More (⋯)”
Located in the meeting toolbar.
✅ Step 2: Select “Video effects
and settings” / “video effects”
✅ Step 3: Click “+ Add New” and
Select Your Image
Upload the organisation’s official background.
Once the custom background is added, it will automatically appear in future calls.
